Warning (stylized as WARNING:) is the sixth studio album by the American punk rock band Green Day. It was released on October 3, 2000 through Reprise Records.

Green Day had began working on the album two years before entering the studio on April 1, 2000. Throughout this time, the band met up five days a week to write new material and rehearse old songs. The album was recorded at Studio 880 in Oakland, California in under two months from April 1 to May 25, 2000.

The album is the first since the band had signed with Reprise Records to not be produced by Rob Cavallo, although he is an executive producer. The band attempted enlisting Scott Litt, who had worked with Nirvana and R.E.M., but the band disagreed with Litt's ideas on the musical direction of the album, and opted to produce the album themselves.

Warning is heavily influenced by Bob Dylan's 1965 album, Bringing It All Back Home which Billie Joe Armstrong listened to repeatedly throughout the album's writing and early recording sessions. Dylan's album influenced Warning's musical experimentation and lyrics.

The lead single to Warning titled Minority, was released on August 31, 2000. It is cited at one of the band's most successful singles from the 2000s, charting at number one on the United States Billboard Modern Rock chart for five consecutive weeks.

Warning was released as the second single on December 11, 2000. The song reached number three on the Modern Rock chart.

Waiting was released as the album's third single on October 29, 2001. It peaked at number twenty-six on the Billboard Modern Rock chart.

The album's final single, Macy's Day Parade was released on November 3, 2001 and did not chart.

Warning peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 and charted for twenty-five weeks. It was certified gold in the United States on December 1, 2000. The album reached number two and was certified platinum on August 1, 2001 in Canada. The album was certified platinum in Australia in 2000.
